Solar Power can be produced from SmartPhones and Windows

Smart phones and Windows can make solar power, can you imagine? Yes, Michigan State University Scientists make it possible to produced a new type of solar concentrator. It can be installed on pre-existing windows to convert them into renewable energy.

Solar Power is radiant light and heat comes from the sun and has been harnessed by humans since ancient times using in solar architecture. solar heating, solar photovoltaics, solar thermal electricity etc solving some of the most urgent energy problems.

Harvesting system of solar energy was developed by Richard Lunt Assistant Professor from Michigan State University, College of Engineering and award winner for the following achievement:

Year 2011 - MassCEC (Clean Energy Center) Grant Award
Year 2009 - GPEC Solar Energy Innovation Award
Year 2013 - NSF CAREER Award & DuPont Young Professor Award

Solar Power

Solar Power by means of Sunlight strikes the solar panels (Sunlight, Glass Cover, Antireflective Coating, Semiconductor, Front contact, back contact, Current) it knocks loose electrons from some of the atoms that make up the semiconductor (1d). The semiconductor encourages all these loose electrons to travel in the same direction having positively charged on one side and negatively charged on the other side which, creating an electric current . The contacts (1e and 1f) capture this current (1g) in an electrical

For producing Solar power from Smart Phone or windows a “transparent luminescent solar concentrator” can be attached to clear surfaces from the screens of cell phones / windows, to transform them into solar power generators
